About Me
Hi, My name is Marissya – an Occupational Therapist passionate about helping people live more independent, meaningful lives.
I graduated from La Trobe University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice. Since then, I’ve worked in the NDIS space for over 3 years, supporting participants of all ages with mental health, psychosocial, and physical disabilities. In this time, I’ve gained experience across a wide range of OT services, including:
• Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs)
• Housing and SDA/SIL assessments
• Capacity building and skill development
• Assistive Technology (AT) prescription
• Minor home modifications
• Sensory-based interventions
• Parent/carer coaching and stakeholder training
Recently, I made the move to online occupational therapy, and I’ve been working in this space for over 6 months. Online OT fits better with my personal life, but more importantly, I’ve found it to be a powerful and flexible way to support people. It breaks down barriers like travel, location, energy levels, and access – allowing therapy to be more consistent, comfortable, and collaborative. Whether someone is in a rural area or prefers the comfort of their own home, online OT can meet them right where they are.My approach is always person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, and I truly believe that therapy should feel empowering – not overwhelming.Outside of work, I’m someone who thrives on connection, a good cup of tea, and meaningful routines. I bring that same energy into my work with clients every day.
